TEPAV Trains Afghan Governors Good Public Management Training aiming to improve the management skills of public administrators will continue until June 12th

10/06/2010 - Viewed 2420 times ANKARA- TEPAV gives Good Public Administration Training to public administrators of Vardak to improve their management skills.

Participants of the training offered in the context of the activities of Vardak Provincial Reconstruction Team constitute of a group of 14 people which include Vardak governors, deputy governor, and officials from Afghanistan Autonomous Administration of Local Governments.

In the trainings which will end on June 12, subjects to be covered are corruption and fight against corruption, human rights and democracy, modern management, and leadership.

After the program in Ankara, the group will visit Kayseri, twin city of Vardak, and join the training program offered by the Governorship of Kayseri. The group will leave Turkey on June 16.

PRT

In Vardak, one of the 34 provinces in Afghanistan, Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) activities are carried out since 2006 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on behalf of the Republic of Turkey. Aims of the Provincial Reconstruction Team are to facilitate the development of Afghan people living within the borders of the Vardak province and the infrastructure operations, improve the administrative and security capacity of the province and the efficiency of these through protects to be developed by Turkey on the basis of international criteria, in the framework of the UNGC decisions, NATO's general targets at Afghanistan, and in the context of the efforts to restructure Afghanistan. There are 26 PRT's carried out in Afghanistan by different countries while Vardak is the only one with a civil government.

 

TRIPP

Good Public Management training is offered by TEPAV-Training and Research Institute for Public Policy (TRIPP). Recently TRIPP offered trainings to groups from Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Kirgizstan, Azerbaijan, Moldova and Georgia on different subjects.
