Interviews with the Industrial Relations Stakeholders Have Started The interviews are planned to be completed in July 2012.

ANKARA - As a part of the project activities for “The Economic Crisis Impact on Industrial Relations National System in Turkey: Policy Responses as Key Recovery Tools”, the project team in Turkey have started one-on-one interviews with the project stakeholders. These stakeholders include employers’ associations, trade unions and occupational organizations, as well as some company examples for the case studies on social dialogue to be included in the national report.

So far, TEPAV project team completed interviews with the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Confederation of Turkish Craftsmen and Tradesmen of Turkey (TESK) and TOBB – ETU hospital (Previously MESA hospital) administration. Appointments with trade unions and other employers’ associations are currently being made. The interviews are planned to be completed in July 2012. During the interviews, TEPAV Project team will receive opinions of stakeholders on the draft National Industrial Relations Report.

The draft report includes the national industrial relations system in Turkey, recent global economic crisis experience of the country, the effects of the crisis on labor market, and the policy responses to the crisis. The report also presents case studies on social dialogue in times of the crisis on national, sector and company level.
