Director of International Studies Center
Ambassador (Emeritus) N. Murat Ersavcı is a highly experienced diplomat with 41 years of public service. He has represented Türkiye as Ambassador to Ireland, the Sultanate of Oman, Australia, and the Kingdom of Belgium. During his tenure in Australia, he was also accredited to Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Nauru, Kiribati, and the Marshall Islands.
Throughout his career, he has held a number of senior positions within the Turkish Government, including Director General of Press and Information at the Office of the Prime Minister; Principal Adviser to the Prime Minister and subsequently to the Minister of Foreign Affairs; Director General for EU Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Director General for Consular Affairs.
His diplomatic assignments have included postings in Germany, Greece, Italy, Iran, the United States, and Austria, where he served at the UN Office in Vienna. In Italy, he also served at the NATO Defence College.
Following his retirement from the diplomatic service in 2011, Ambassador Ersavcı continued to serve the Turkish Government until 2018 as a Special Envoy and as Chief Delegate to the International Bureau of Exhibitions (BIE) in Paris. He has also worked as a consultant to major national and international companies.
Over the course of his career, he has dealt with a broad range of issues, including defence and security, bilateral economic relations, public diplomacy, conflict resolution, and cross-cultural communication. As a Special Envoy, he has undertaken sensitive and mission-critical assignments requiring high-level diplomatic engagement and negotiation.
Ambassador Ersavcı has lectured on Turkish foreign policy at various international think tanks and universities.
He has been awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Leopold II of Belgium and the Cross of Merit of Germany (Verdienstkreuz).
Ambassador Ersavcı is the author of numerous articles published in the Turkish and international media. Together with his spouse, he is also the co-author of a book on diplomacy and life.
Ambassador Ersavcı joined TEPAV (Economic Policy Research Foundation of Türkiye) in April 2019 as the Director of International Studies Center.
