Mert Uzunsoy

Mert Uzunsoy is a researcher who is interested in elections and changes in political geography in Turkey and continues his research in this way. He completed his undergraduate degree in Econometrics at Trakya University in 2020. While continuing his undergraduate education, he worked on changing election arithmetic in Ordu, Adana, Edirne, and Ankara, which are cities in Turkey. Between September 2020 and January 2021, he worked in the accounting department of a law firm in İstanbul. Between January 2021 and February 2022, he conducted research on local and parliamentary elections in the Turkey Report. He studied the potential consequences of the single-member district in case of implementation in Turkey. He continues his research on electoral systems. Turkey's political geography spoiled voting in elections; the factors affecting voter behavior in Turkey; the effects of developments in agriculture on elections and the effects of migration movements on electoral geography.

Mert Uzunsoy joined TEPAV in March 2022 as a Research Associate.
