Applicant studies are expected to focus directly on Turkey and benefit from international practices and experiences in doing so.
ANKARA – TEPAV continues to award academic studies in the memory of Prof. Dr. Merih Celasun, who created remarkable solutions to Turkey's structural problems throughout his career. The 2013 Merih Celasun Award theme will be “Turkey’s urbanization and its economic repercussions.”
The deadline for applications for 2013 Merih Celasun Award is April 30th, 2014 and the money award is 10.000 TL. The applicants shall submit curriculum vitae, application form, the article and article summary (no more than 1000 words) online to yarisma@tepav.org.tr.
This year’s award jury will be made up of Ahmet Yaman, Ayda Eraydın, Erol Taymaz, Esen Çağlar, İlhan Tekeli and Sibel Güven. After the evaluation of the jury, the winning article will be announced on TEPAV website “Merih Celasun Memorial Day” page and applicants will be notified in written. 2013 Merih Celasun Award will be given with a ceremony at the Merih Celasun Memorial Day in 2014, at a date to be set later by TEPAV.
Candidate academic studies are expected to address “Turkey’s urbanization and its economic repercussions” as this year’s theme. Subjects related to this field include but not limited to the following:
Since urban economics is rather an emerging field for Turkey’s economists, research areas cover a broad range of subjects related to Turkey’s economic and urbanization challenges. Yet, applicant studies are expected to focus directly on Turkey and benefit from international practices and experiences in doing so.
