The purpose of the project was to determine the factors that constraint doing business and investment in Turkey and to design policy recommendations. Better investment climate would enable Turkey to attract more FDI as well as have higher productivity and growth rates. The project included

• a detailed investment climate survey,
• to form a database of 1300 industrial firms which includes qualitative and quantitative data
• to analyze data statistically for determining the factors that constraint doing business and investment and effect productivity of the firms in Turkey
• to conduct background studies for supplementing the survey as well as an Investment Climate Assessment Report which analyzed the findings of the survey
• to prepare policy recommendations.
