Objective

Given the indispensable nature of energy for national economies as well as importance of energy policies in determining international relations, International Relations Department of TOBB-University of Economics and Technology, in cooperation with London Information Network on Conflict and State-Building (LINKS) and Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV), has established an Energy Discussion Group called The Ankara Forum on Energy and Energy Security to generate debate on challenging energy-related issues.

The Group consists of approximately 40 people from academia, bureaucracy and industry representatives in Turkey. It will meet regularly to discuss topical issues with energy experts both from Turkey and abroad. The aim of the Group includes creating a venue for regular debate among the experts and sector representatives, increasing awareness in general public about energy issues, producing meaningful policy alternatives based on expertise, market knowledge, and experience.
