American Entrepreneurs to Meet Turkish Peers In the context of GEP carried out by TOBB and the U.S. Department of State, a delegation of American entrepreneurs and the participants of the business Plan Competition will be showcased with a press meeting.

ANKARA- The Global Entrepreneurship Program (GEP) – Turkey is to select the best among top entrepreneurs of Turkey. A delegation of American entrepreneurs and investors, who were brought to Turkey by the Global Entrepreneurship Program of the U.S. Department of State and are to form the Jury of the Business Plan Competition organized in this context, as well as Turkish entrepreneurs will be showcased with a press meeting.

The meeting will also host representatives from GEP-Turkey partners and Executive Board members of the Partners For a New Beginning (PNB).

Thirty-three entrepreneurs will join the Business Plan Competition organized by GEP-Turkey and sponsored by Garanti Bank, Microsoft, Intel, General Electric and Pegasus. With a two-day program, competitors will be evaluated by the jury formed of American and Turkish entrepreneurs, in parallel tracks for early and growth stage enterprises. Vice Prime Minister Ali Babacan and TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu will announce top three teams in two tracks, during the Award Ceremony on 30 May 2012.

GEP-PNB

The Global Entrepreneurship Program (GEP) – Turkey was launched with the signature of the memorandum of understanding by US Ambassador to Ankara Ricciardone and TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu, following the Partners For a New Beginning (PNB) initiative TOBB and TEPAV started in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State. The Program was officially launched on 3 December 2011 in Istanbul by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden. US President Obama had announced both programs during the Entrepreneurship Summit held in Washington in 2010.
