Güneş A. Aşık holds a B.Sc. in Economics from Hacettepe University (2000) and a MPA-ID (Master in Public Administration and International Development) from Harvard University Kennedy School of Government (2006). Aşık is a PhD candidate in Economics at London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Aşık previously worked at the Undersecretariat of Treasury of Turkey, Department of IMF Affairs (2001-2004). Among her academic posts are Research Assistant, Teaching Fellow and Instructor at LSE, Harvard, Sabancı and Beijing Universities. In addition, she interned at several international organizations including the European Commission and the IMF.

Güneş Aşık worked at TEPAV from October 2012 to March 2016.
