Murat Orkun Selçuk completed his undergraduate education in International Relations at METU (Middle East Technical University) and his graduate studies at SOAS, University of London.

He began his career in banking, working as a Corporate Marketing Manager at Garanti Bank and Akbank. He later served for many years as a Middle East expert in the Prime Ministry. After leaving the Prime Ministry, he consulted various firms on country risk. Most recently, he conducted studies on the activities of radical groups within the Gendarmerie General Command of the Ministry of Interior.

Murat Orkun Selçuk joined TEPAV as the Director of the Political Risk Studies Center in 2025.
