The third report titled “Urban Coalitions and Mechanisms of Cooperation: The Case of Istanbul and Berlin” of the project “Overcoming Global Problems with Local Cooperation: The Example of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality”, funded by CATS Network and jointly run by TEPAV, Istanbul Policy Center (IPC), and Economic Development Foundation (IKV), was published in November 2022.

The third and final report aims to reveal the possibilities of cooperation between Istanbul and Berlin in the context of the impact of climate change on vulnerable groups, through policy recommendations. This report, which was prepared based on the qualitative research method, has three main parts. In the first part of the report, the cooperation to be established between cities in the context of city diplomacy is mentioned. In the second part of the report, the current situation of Istanbul and Berlin Municipalities in terms of climate change and vulnerable groups; are analyzed comparatively over demographic, socioeconomic, environmental and governance parameters. In the third and last part of the report, policy recommendations that can be cooperated between Istanbul and Berlin Municipalities are included.
