Syrian Deputy Prime Minister Dardari at TEPAV

Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey organized a meeting on January 3, 2008 with the participation of the Syrian Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Dardari, Syrian Minister of Transportation, Minister of National Resources, Deputy Minister of Industry, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and other high level Syrian officials.
At the meeting, Associate Proffessor at the TOBB University of Economics and Technology, Mr. Abdullatif Sener, made the introductory remarks. Afterwards, the Syrian Deputy Prime Minister Dardari made a presentation about the bilateral relations, the economic development process in Syria and reforms undertaken by that country in order to attract foreign direct investments. After Dardari, the Director of the Economic Policy Research Institute at TEPAV, Prof. Fatih Ozatay made a presentation about the economic transformation process that Turkey has been undergoing through since the 1980's, lessons learned out of this process and the reforms that Turkey implemented in the recent years.
At the last section of the meeting, a discussion was held regarding the bilateral relations and what future joint projects might consist of between the private sector organizations of the two countries.
