Global Search for Mechanisms to Manage Capital Flows After the Crisis TEPAV will be hosting a panel with the theme "How to Manage Capital Flows" organized by Global Development Learning Network, a World Bank organisation, via video conference from Turkey.

ANKARA- Turkey session of the panel "How to Manage Capital Flows" organized by Global Development Learning Network, will be hosted by TEPAV via video conference on October 7, 2010.

The main site of the panel will be at World Bank Office in Washington DC with the presence of Zanny Minton-Beddoes, Economics Editor at The Economist Magazine as a moderator. The session in Turkey will be moderated by Fatih Özatay, Director of Economy Studies at TEPAV and Professor of economics at TOBB University of Economics and Technology.

The speakers of panel are;

  • Anne Krueger, former Deputy MD at the IMF and former Vice President and Chief Economist at the World Bank;
  • Yaga Venugopal Reddy, former Governor, Reserve Bank of India;
  • Guillermo Calvo, Professor of Economics, International and Public Affairs, and Director of the Program in Economic Policy Management (PEPM) at Columbia University;
  • Hyun Song Shin, Senior Advisor for International Economy to the South Korean President;
  • Malcolm Knight, Vice Chairman of Deutsche Bank;

Senior bureaucrats, academicians and the representative of international organisations from Brazil, Mexico, Polond and South Africa as well as Turkey will join the panel via video conference. The debate topics of the panel will be private capital flows before and after the crisis, recommended policies on how to manage capital flows after the crisis and country samples.
