The Constitution Platform to Meet the Youth in Samsun on March 25th… The eight meeting of the series will be held in Samsun on Sunday, with the participation of the youth.

ANKARA – The eighth meeting of the Constitution Platform Citizens’ Aseembly series will be held in Samsun on Sunday, March 25, 2012 with the participation of young citizens from all over Turkey. The series is presented with the secretariat of TEPAV by the Constitution Platform initiative group, made up of thirteen professional organizations and syndicates.

The first meeting of the series was held in Ankara on Sunday, January 8, 2012, followed by the meetings in Konya, Edirne, Diyarbakir, Izmir and Antalya. Also, a special meeting was held in Ankara with the participation of women on the International Women’s Day, Thursday, March 8, 2012.

The series, which hosts hundreds of participants, will continue in other cities after Samsun. Citizens’ Assembly will be the biggest event for deliberative democracy in Turkey.

The Platform makes keen efforts to ensure the impartiality of the assemblies. It uses innovative and special methods in both the identification of meeting participants and the organization of the content. The framework to be drawn throughout the citizens’ assemblies is expected to contribute to the establishment of consensus within the Turkish National Assembly.
