Selin Özokcu

Selin Özokcu is an interdisciplinary researcher particularly interested in consumer culture and sustainable consumption. She graduated with high honors from the METU Department of Business Administration in 2012. Following her curiosity about the field of climate change, environmental issues, and sustainable development, she later earned an MSc degree in Earth System Science in the sub-track of Energy, Environmental Economics, and Policy from METU. In her master’s research, she studied the relationship between CO2 emissions and income through the Environmental Kuznets Curve. Her research was published in Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews. Pursuing her doctoral studies in the same program, Özokcu started to examine the consumer culture in the context of environment, sustainability and food and addressed her studies in this direction. For her graduate studies, Özokcu is the recipient of scholarships given under the National Scholarship Program for MSc and PhD Students by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK). She also worked as a research and teaching assistant at the Department of Business Administration in METU for eight years.

Selin Özokcu joined TEPAV in November 2021 as a Policy Analyst.
